A Day At the Cincinnati Zoo

Mady's favorite spot: the polar bears.
What does a bear say Mady? She opens her mouth wide as she says "Raarr" in a whisper.
At first every animal says "oof!" but she eventually learned that not EVERYTHING will say that. Though since mommy didn't have anything better for her to say at the rhino spot she insisted it said, "oof!"

Fireworks!

The fireworks were great, though Mady was a bit scared with all the noise. She doesn't like thunder so the booms coming from the fireworks seemed even worse to her. Especially once the grand finale' took place. I can't say that she has ever hugged us so tightly...and clinging to me when not wanting to be put in her bed at night time doesn't count.
She may have liked to watch the fireworks, but, for sure, the sound could've been muted if it were up to the little one.
We had fun - minus the hour or so that we spend trying to get back to the church apartment that was like 10 minutes away. Wow, talk about wanting to have road rage... Rob remained very calm =)

Happy 4th of July!!!

Mady and I were able to spend the 4th of July with Rob and his family. We had a relaxing day sitting, talking, and getting to know the family. Rob and Scott (brother-in-law) were the entertainment of the day as they played with old Karate Kid and A Team action figures from back in the day that Rob dug out of storage. One word: cute. =) Mady had a lot of fun getting so much attention and playing with new toys. She even had her first few lessons in basketball that day.
I think we make a rather cute family =) Call me partial if you like...
